100

A few days back we passed the hundred-day mark of our move to Singapore. Time flies doesn't it? I thought about writing down what we've been up to the past three-and-a-bit months and as expected, it consists a lot of apartment-hunting-moving-furniture-decor-shopping. Fun times folks, fun times. While I look forward to giving you an apartment tour, here's a quick update of what's otherwise been happening in my neck of the woods:

ISEC

After suffering through severe short-sightedness for over 25 years (think -8.75/-9.25), I finally decided to get my eyes fixed. Unlike most people, I have thin corneas and alas the more-commonly prescribed LASIK was out of the question. Instead, lens made out of a material called collamer (known as ICL), were placed in front of my existing cornea to correct my eyesight from the inside. It's been a week since surgery and while my eyes are a little sore and tire easily, my vision is damn near perfect. I can't remember the last time I woke up not fumbling for my glasses. Oh wait, it was this morning. I feel AMAZING and am kicking myself for waiting this long to take the plunge on such a life-changing procedure.

Urban Outfitters

I sound like a broken record player but the weather here truly is amazing. This summer bunny loves the heat and is embracing humidity with open arms! Especially now that my hair has been chemically altered to be frizz-free (I lasted but 3 weeks au naturel before giving up). I'm making the most of being in the tropics by hanging out in the pool every weekend. The pretzel is getting a great workout and so are my bathers - the one I am wearing is old H&M (also seen here). I also recently bought this budget-friendly one-piece from Norma Kamali so I can swim laps in style. Let's be honest, with prices like that I'm keeping a close on her entire Kamali Kulture diffusion line.

Saigon

One of the best things about Singapore is that it's a only a few hours away from so many great cities. Coupled with the array of budget airlines in the region, we are flying lots and flying cheap. This weekend, we are off to Ho Chi Minh City. Saigon holds a extra special place in our hearts as we were last there for our honeymoon (which was about 68 weeks ago!) Since we took care of sightseeing on our previous visit, we have no grand plans apart from eating and drinking plenty of phở and cà phê sữa đá. Sounds fun, no?

Lastly my sunflowers bloomed! And like the simple creature that I am, I'm now yearning for everything yellow, with this sunshine-y Nanette Lepore dress sitting high on my wishlist. So happy Anthropologie ships to Singapore for a nominal fee - the thought of curbing my Anthro fixation is a little hard to bear.
